Indonesian Speaking Competition
Posted: 07-Jul-2016

On Saturday 18th June, 13 Indonesian students from Year 7 to 11 travelled by bus to Melbourne to compete in an Indonesian speaking competition at Melbourne University. All of us were extremely nervous and anxious about the experience as we spoke one on one with an assessor who asked us many questions which tested our ability to answer comprehensively in Indonesian. It was a challenging experience which will help all of us students in the future and especially help to further our knowledge in preparation for our Year 12 oral exam.

We competed against many other schools from all around Victoria, each of which had different levels of ability. After the competition we went out for lunch as a group and travelled home feeling grateful for the experience and proud of our efforts. We would like to thank Bu Wantania for organising this enriching experience and Bu Ward and Pak Glenn Jessup for accompanying us on our excursion.

Overall it was an experience we will not forget and we highly recommend it to all Indonesian students to help gain further knowledge in the language.
