Drama Club Presentation
Finally on the 4th of December the Auditorium became the setting of Sherwood forest as the audience were encouraged to ‘Don their gauntlets and grab their bow and arrow’ as the Drama Club presented the rollicking madcap adventure of ‘Robin da Hood’. With an involvement of over 20 students from years 7 & 8 the performance was a fitting reward to the countless lunchtimes spent in developing and refining the show. The cast’s enthusiasm was infectious as we were encouraged to boo and cheer and even dance with selected characters.
The show skilfully delivered in the best of the pantomime tradition was a resounding success and was filled with physical and verbal gags, many created by the students themselves that kept the large and appreciative crowd entertained. The true success of this amazing theatrical opportunity given to these young performers was however the chance to shine. For many it was their first time on stage. Congratulations to Drama club coordinator and director Nicole Burness for her dedication to this merry band of students and for her amazing ability to develop and instil the love of Drama and performance.
