Damascus College has a strong emphasis on sport, particularly on participation. The sport program caters for all students from those who want to try something new to elite athletes. Damascus students have gone on to represent Australia and play at the highest level in their chosen sports.
There are ample opportunities for students to be involved in the after school sports program which is run by the Ballarat Associated Schools (BAS). It is the purpose of BAS to provide structured competition for the member schools to maximise the opportunities for students to participate in organised sport. Students involved in BAS sport are expected to follow the player code of conduct.
The following image displays ALL the sports on offer across the year, however Damascus College will only enter teams when we have the required numbers. If there is no mention of 'boys' or 'girls', the sport is co-ed and open to all. Junior is typically Year 7/8 students (with the exception of junior boys/girls hockey, junior boys volleyball, junior girls soccer/football/cricket, where junior in this instance is Year 7-9 students), Intermediate Year 9/10 students and Senior Year 11/12 students.
