Congratulations to all involved
Great weekend had by the EBT crew. After a long, hot 24 hours of non-stop racing, our team finished 8th in the Open Secondary category out of 20 trikes and 26th overall out of 83. We were up against some outstanding competition in our category, racing against teams consisting of eight Year 12 boys aged 17 with six years or more experience, racing in some very expensive trikes that they bought. Our team included one Year 8, two Year 9's, one Year 10, three Year 11's and one Year 12, some only racing for the second time ever and in a trike that our students can be proud in saying that they built from scratch. This of course could not happen without the watchful eye of Mark McLean, Alan Strange and Ryan Spiteri.
Some very consistent times and overall a great effort by all. We did a total of 459 laps and 688 km over the 24 hour period. Ballarat to Adelaide plus 75km!
Special mention to our amazing pit crew consisting of five students, three of which had never been to an event before. All showing great initiative and organisation. Our parent support was also outstanding over the weekend.
The way our students held themselves over the weekend is a result of our amazing school and the community and values we uphold. This was evident when a primary school trike had broken
down right in front of our pits and without hesitation our students helped the boy out and continued to pick the trike up and return it to the teams pits for him.
We should all be very proud.
Some very tired kids and staff. Please give our EBT students a pat on the back this week.
