Student Prac at Home
One of the challenges of Remote Learning has been the conundrum it poses for practical subjects. In Year 9 Horticulture, we were in the midst of studies on vegetative propagation, and growing cuttings at school was obviously out of the question.
So instead, instructions went out at the end of Term 1 for students to acquire some stock plants of Pelargonium, turn them into cuttings, and carry out an experiment at home.
This they did with gusto, with some really interesting investigations set up. I’m looking forward to marking their work. Thanks to parents of the class for their obvious support in encouraging the enthusiastic participation of the class, providing materials and the space for the cuttings to grow.
