Strong Results from Damascus Students

Last Friday Year 9 students Shannon Craggill, Sam McDonald and Year 12 student Travis O'Brien competed in the Under 15s, 17s and 19s Victorian Inter-school Cycling Series (Round 1) at Melbourne.

The conditions were challenging due to the cold and rain weather, and our three Damascus students did an amazing job and displayed grit and determination.

Funny story - Travis was generously lent a bike on the day by a competitor school after his bike unknowingly fell off the roof of the car, and was not discovered missing until arrival at the event (Happy to say it has been recovered...in some condition).

All three students came home happily bearing medals with podium finishes, meaning that Damascus College currently places 2nd overall after the completion of Round 1.

The next 4 rounds will be held in Belmont this Friday with the State Finals in Bendigo.

Well Done Shannon, Sam and Travis - you have done Damascus College proud!
