VCAL Students Learn About Passover

Recently during VCAL RE we had a guest speaker, Bernie Tolan from the CEO. She taught us about Pesach, including the rituals and experiences Jewish people have at Passover. We tasted some of the food. We ate Matzah which to everyone tasted like unsalted salada, some people liked it and some didn’t. Some people had parsley and salt water and everyone’s facial expressions were very funny because it was weird tasting. Some people also tried Matzah with horseradish and apple sauce together. Gayle Haintz said it tasted like mustard but some of the other boys thought otherwise and said it was spicy and bitter. Written by Mahalia Howard and Jorja Kennedy
