Food and Consumer Science
Recently Year 9 students launched their new consumer products to the Damascus student community, as part of their Food and Consumer Science elective.
As part of this subject, students had to investigate the Science involved in the design, manufacture and analysis (microbiological, chemical and sensory) of food and other consumer products. As a result they were introduced to the varied occupational roles in the Food and Consumer industries.
This is a new subject that has a balance between practical and theory work; with students researching and developing their own new product.
Products included: Bikkie Baskets, Cake Pops, Wagon Wheel Ice-cream, Pasta Bake, The Basic Cake, Christmas Cookies Well done to the students involved, there was some really tasty and delicious treats.
