Damascus Students to Represent Victoria

Year 10 student Tahlia Meier has recently been selected to represent Victoria in the U15 National Girls Cricket Championship, to be played in Canberra on 18 Feb – 1st March.

Tahlia said that she is the only player to be selected from Western Victoria.

“I recently returned from representing the U18 Victorian team in Bendigo and Ballarat, and was selected for the U15 team through playing in the Youth Premier League, in the Melbourne Renegades team,” she said.

Tahlia has played cricket for the last three years, and is hoping to make the Australian U15 side.

“A squad of 20 are selected for the Australian team, to go to Brisbane for a camp and then they play against the U18 state teams at the Nationals next year in WA.”

Tahlia will find out on the final night of the Nationals in Canberra, if she has been selected for the Australian team.

“I feel very honoured and excited to be selected to represent Victoria.”
