Australian Ballet Program

Year 8 student Tom worked very hard to learn the variation in preparation for The Australian Ballet Virtual Mentoring Program.

Young aspiring ballet dancers had the rare opportunity to be mentored by a professional dancer from The Australian Ballet in their own home thanks to a new Virtual Mentoring program developed by The Australian Ballet and Telstra. The Virtual Mentoring Program is specifically for young, rising ballet stars from regional communities. The free, three-week intensive is highly specialised, focusing on providing pre-professional guidance for young male and female dancers who may be considering dance as a career. Students received a one-on-one mentorship and are required to learn choreography from the beloved ballet Giselle.

Tom created this wonderful video of his experience. Tom had a wonderful time taking virtual lessons from George-Murray Nightingale. Tom thanks The Australian Ballet and Telstra for their support.

Congratulations Tom, it's wonderful to see you soaring so high.
