Oliver!
This year, the Damascus College Musical production of Oliver! asks you to step into a world where Victorian London meets the fantastical edge of Steampunk. This reimagination of Oliver! is more than just a fresh coat of gears and brass, it is a powerful tale of survival, transformation, and the enduring search for belonging, brought to life with dynamic performances, vivid design, and creative energy. The Damascus College community has come together to bring to life Charles Dickens’ beloved characters in a new and vibrant way.
Oliver! features a diverse and talented cast drawn from Years 7 to 12, showcasing the rising stars of our school community. From the innocence of Oliver to the cunning of Fagin, the devoted Nancy and brutal Bill Sikes, each role is brought to life with passion, discipline, and creative flair.
As part of this production, we are proud to have Alumni returning to share their experience and rekindle their love for the stage, alongside the dedicated staff who lend their talents in numerous areas. We are fortunate to also be supported by local businesses and the families of our casts. Their support has made the Steampunk vision come to life and as such this year’s production of Oliver! is more than a musical – it’s a testament to the power of storytelling, teamwork, and creativity.
Oliver! offers students a platform in which those involved can express themselves, learn valuable skills, and connect across year levels and generations. It brings together the Damascus College and broader community in a shared celebration of the arts.
